Artist
Dale Harpe was born and raised along the
white sand shores of Lake Michigan. Some
of the most beautiful beaches and
breathtaking sunset in the world are
found along Michigan’s west coast. The
hard wood forests of this northern state
offer deep greens in the summer and with
autumn arrives a wondrous collage of
bright oranges and reds. The many hours
spent hiking in the beautiful forests of
Michigan and along its rolling surf
inspired a deep appreciation for the
awesome beauty of nature as well as a
strong desire to capture it on film.
Dale’s first professional 35 mm camera
was purchased in Japan while serving the
US Army. During those early years, the
novice photographer and his wife Penny
had the opportunity to travel around
Japan and photograph the countryside
extensively. However, the birth of their
first son Jeff (made in Japan, born in
the USA) and three more shortly after,
Dale’s passion for photography was put
on hold.
In 1987,
nearly twenty years later, Dale finally
realized his dream of becoming a
professional landscape photographer.
With the purchase of both a Medium and
Large format camera, Dale and his family
moved to the
Majestic Rocky Mountains of
Colorado and has spent the last 20 years
perfecting his talent.
This exceptional Landscape artist’s
photographs include images from
Canada
to New Mexico to
California, and
everything in-between. His original
photography has been featured for sale
in galleries throughout Colorado,
including Vail, Beaver Creek,
Breckenridge, Silverthorne, and Denver.
In 2005 the village of Vail, Colorado
contracted Dale to capture the beauty of
America’s favorite ski destination. His
work is now featured in the village
Municipal building. In 2006 he was the
“featured artist” of the town’s weekly
summer farmers market. |
